Turning Over a New Leaf

Hi loves!

I'm back from my little hiatus and wanted to take some time to extrapolate on my video with the same title as this post. 

In essence, my level of comfort with some of the beauty community on YouTube has diminished drastically within the past few months. It is not necessarily due to anything that was done wrong, but merely I believe my eyes were awoken to some of the not so pleasant aspects of the makeup world. At the very basic level of it all, the makeup industry gets its money by exploiting one of a women's most vulnerable traits. Her insecurities. Thin lips? Plumping lipstick! Round face? Contouring bronzer with fix that right up! And so on and so forth. I've taken a stance on this that is leading me to limit how much makeup I am putting on my face. I don't want women to think that it makes me better than them or that I am so brave for doing so. Not wearing makeup is my rejection of the standard of beauty that is upheld in the United States and many other parts of the world today. By tossing my foundation aside I'm saying to the world, "So what if I don't have porcelain skin? It doesn't make me any less of a person!" The ability to accept ourselves the way we truly are is liberating. If being bare-faced makes me ugly then SO WHAT. We don't have to be attractive for anyone. Own it. Let your confidence come from you and not how you are perceived by the world.

How to Stay Organized and Succeed in School

Hey Everyone!
I'm sorry for being gone for so long. I'm a junior in high school which is notoriously the most rigorous so I had to prioritize school over YouTube for a little while. I'm back now and couldn't be more happy! I finally have everything I've been meaning to get for a long time in order for my videos to be in tip-top shape as far as lighting, camera, and editing go.
After my little spiel about school, I thought it would be helpful for all of you to see my latest video that includes a bunch of tips and tricks about what to keep with you in order to stay organized in school! Whether you are in middle school, high school, or college, we could all use some life-hacks now and then. I hope you enjoy and I should have another video going up tomorrow. Trying to get two up a week, try and hold me to it!

HAPPY NEW YEAR

Hi Everyone!

I hope your 2015 is going well so far. I wanted to make this post to say that I probably will not have a video up until the end of the month, due to the fact that I am taking the SAT on January 24th and have to be studying like crazy until then. Worry not though, I'm going to link my last 3 videos right here in case you missed them. I'm really happy with them because I got the Final Cut Pro X editing system for Christmas so I have been able to explore the ins and outs of that. It has been super fun and I'm loving it a lot as you will be able to tell if you watch the videos! I also got studios lights that I haven't set up yet, but definitely will be utilizing in the next video you see from me.
